I've been doing some front suspension alignment after making new lower wishbone mounts lately, and then I noticed that the left front wheel sits quite close to the outer part of the body while the right one is at least an inch further inboard. Since then I've been thinking about spacing out the lower wishbone brackets with the "missing" inch.
My car is a 1969 V4, and first I thought it was a fault on my chassis or my body, but today I met another Marcos owner - with a 1970 V6 - who had exactely the same situation. But he didn't know until he was doing some front suspesion work and discovered that there was a "sneaky" spacer conected to his right front hub!!
The spacer didn't look like it was machined from a billet, but made from molted metal in a form. It was bolted to the hub, and had separate bolts facing out for the road wheel. And looked like it had been there "forever".
Does anyone have any information of this subject?
