You can see that the carb sits about 3" above the scuttle where the bonnet sits down, thats about 2 1/2" too high and without a proper air filter.
The throttle lever is within 3/4" of the valve cover so I cannot reduce the inlet manifold height.
If I turn the Holley by 90 degrees, throttle spindle in line with the crankshaft, I can drop the carb by about 3", since you can see I have one of the
Burton Power "High" inlet manifolds.
BUT will the carb work OK in this position?
Otherwise its back to the drawing board and 3 downdraft Webers or 6 throttle bodies.
