Drat - just 300 miles short of my 5000 mile target ! Mainly due to no Xmas runs on account of the weather. Can we have better weather for 2010 please ?
There's a lot of talk these days about green transport. Well, I am ahead of the game, I already have green transport ... British racing green.

Still only 1000miles must try better this year but at 17mpg could be expensive!

Hi, only got the car in 2009 and not on the road 'til mid September, but managed just shy of 1000 miles. can I echo the request for better weather this
year, as I've not been able to run on the road since November. which can't be good for the car or me!

Just a few miles over 5000 in my first year of ownership (14 Feb 2009 to present). It would have been less, had I not had to use it for some run of the mill outings for a period due to problems with my other car. On the other hand it may have been more if I had not had to be trailered back from France in which case I would have to have gone grovelling to my insurers for an extension. Still, this year I've negotiated 6000 miles out of them.
How do they know it was a Big Bang if there was no one around to hear it?

Hello everyone, my name is John Newton, and first a little trivia before a delightful nostalgic link!
I began to pine back in 1968 when I saw my first Marcos. Jump to 1976 when I finally acquired a 3ltr V6 which lasted a whole 11 months.........well it did become the deposit on the house! Fantasise about reacquisition, utilizing my ceramic skills to create a 'warchest'. Own up, anyone got one of my Deskpens originally featured in the club magazine? Must be a collectors item by now! *he said hopefully*. 2006, still flat-chested, I espy the 2ltr V4 on ebay for restoration. Place winning bid and suffer illness through drink-related nerve calming technique! By the skin of my teeth arrive at Prescott with the final version of the ceramic model (based on the 2/3ltr v's) still hot from the kiln, which Jem kindly allowed me to display alongside his book signing area. April 2010 our V4 comes out to play after 37 years hibernation. Now for the interesting bit...I've just found on British Pathe news, 3 remarkable clips featuring various Marcos cars. You remember Pathe news with your Kia-ora orange drink, between Zoro and Flash Gordon,(The clean version , not the former tenant of no 10!) Go to British Pathe news site, and type in search box marcos cars, and view 1961 and 1969 motor show, and then girls from F.L.I.R.T. I think you will enjoy. I will put a fuller account of my dedication on my profile along with information about my Ceramarcos models and future website as soon as time allows. (Thanks Mark Saxby for your kind website comments.) T.T.F.N. John. |
