Regretably neither Cazzer nor I will be attending the Le Mans Classic after all. Caz has car trouble & I have people trouble. We (& our ex-passengers) are more than a little hacked off at the various events which have culminated in this but it's all part of life's rich pageant, eh?
Anyway... this means the following tickets are now available: 3 x General Admission & Paddock + "Chinetti et Sommer" grandstand tickets available. I understand it's between the ACO and the Dunlop grandstands, still with a view of the pit lane and starting grid up to the Dunlop Chicane.
Cost 60 Euros each but it's late so make me an offer. Oliver 07970 652462 (Also advertised on Pistonheads.)

The Quiffster wrote: Q, Sorry to hear that and hope you both get your troubles resolved. I was looking forward to seeing Cazzers LM, as were others, and both your good selves at Le Mans. Really bad luck and can understand the hacked off bit only too well. Had my problems over the years as well and as you say "part of life's rich pageant" more like "lifes rich I am sure that many will send and post piccies for you to help ease the agony and frustration. |

Disaster! I was driving to Portsmouth to catch tomorrow mornings ferry to France and only got 90 miles from home in The Marcos before the gearbox became jammed in 4th gear. I’ve managed to drive the car back home using 4th gear which was quite a challenge arround Norwich. Just waiting for the car to cool down so I can remove the gearbox and see whats wrong. Looks like I might not make Le Mans in the Marcos after all, either way it’s going to be a long night if I’m going to catch the ferry in the morning. Adrian |

I had that once, it was the gear linkages coming loose when a bolt had dropped out, the replacement bolt was from an SD1. If yours is the same issue, then when you have tightened it up get someone to move the gear lever whilst you are underneath to make sure it is all done properly, it'll save you having to to take it all apart again!
Best of luck getting it sorted in time for the ferry.

If anyone is staying to the last day and is around when all the scavenging of the signs and logos is going on... and just so happens to stumble on a large piece of the screening mesh... I was thinking how good it would look in the garage, it had all gone by the time I thought of it last time! There is a donation to your favourite charity in it for you, and remember where charity begins!

Found the problem, a roll pin that holds the gear selector fork onto a shaft inside the gear box had fallen out. Have replaced the roll pin and the selector fork with a spare I had in the garage. Quite impressed with myself with getting sorted within 4 hours considering I had to remove the gearbox from the car.
Now ready to have another go at driving to Portsmouth. Hopefully I'll make it and see you all at Le Mans. Adrian |

A reminder that anyone looking for some accommadation for LMC, the Morrisons still have some space (even more now Caz & I aren't going to be there!) & you can't beat waking up to a field full of Marcii (don't start...

Great time at the Le Mans Classic, good to see everyone enjoying themselves.
Special thanks to the Morrisons for their hospitality, Marion particularly enjoyed the chocolate cheesecake and red wine. |

The road trip to Le Mans was a little traumatic to say the least. Boiling hot weather and for Kevin a boiling hot radiator when the fan decided to pack up on his Mantis. However, between Kevin, Harry, Ian and I we managed to keep our cool and carried out some temporary fixes by the roadside. We arrived at Le Mans almost together. My Garmin sent me round a roundabout, I missed the turning. Kevin went one way and I went on a completely different route. Kevin got to the bar before us. We arrived at the camp site, but when we found out which bar Kevin was in we drove back out and joined him at the bar. It was pitch black when we arrived at the camp site, but we managed to get our tents up with the help of some headlight lighting from John Brookes. It was a miracle that my tent managed to stay up for the whole weekend. With the help of Mick, Paul and the other happy campers made a very adequate repair to the fan on Kevin’s car. Our journey home was trouble free. Big thanks to Paul for the camp site entertainment. It’s such a shame that we can’t buy that Coco drink in the UK. Well done to John for bringing all the chairs, gazebo and all the other stuff that we can’t pack into the Marcos boot. Roll on the next Le Mans Classic. I will definitely catch the live band next time. The whole weekend was FanTasTic.

Well it was a fantastic weekend. The weather was great and there was a good turn out of Marcoses (Marcii?).
