Snow has gone, sun has come - and no work on the Marcos :-(
As I know the V6 had a terrible backfire when it was parked last autumn, that is the first issue to fix. Next is to stop heavy oil leak from the gearbox, then adjust the front wheels to correct toe-in.
But, ignition.
The car was backfireing only when decreasing speed, not uner acceleratoin - so I assume the fault is the ignintion - and not a crack in the head (God forbid) nor broken gasket.
I would like to fit new condenser and pointbreaker (? The one used to adjust dwell angle, inside the distributor), as well as ignition cables - and perhaps a new coil.
Some question:
What type of condenser and pointbreaker (?) is suggested? If anyone has the Ford part numbers, I would be happy
What is the correct ignition timing and dwell angle?
Which cylinder is #1 ?
Thanks
