Registered Member Posts: 305 Wed, 14-Jan-2004 14:12	Tags : None I have just bought some wing mirrors from MHS and just wondered what the original wing mirror (I think there was only one on the drivers side?) for the 1970ish cars looked like and what car is was from? Any pics anyone? Also thinking of having my bhp taken up a notch, has anybody used Specialized Engines down south (they are on the web). I have spoken to them and they seem to offer a good service. Any feedback positive/negative, or points to watch out for would be good. The Marcos is about to become my daily driver for 3 months or so, any tips to make life easier, apart from two wing mirrors Thanks John

I was forced to use my 1970 V6 to commute to work for a week 2 years ago whilst Vauxhall took the bent valves out of the Calibra I owned at the time. All went well till it rained on a cold Feb morning. Result one damp fusebox and no wipers or indicators for the last 5 miles to work. A good squirt of WD40 did the trick for the trip home.

Posts: 1103 Wed, 14-Jan-2004 22:17 Guru mechanic	Try Europa Spares (their details are on the Recommendations page.) They do a whole range of mirrors and one of them looks exactly like the OE and it is not that expensive

Registered Member Posts: 45 Fri, 16-Jan-2004 19:30 Apprentice mechanic	they fitted a 3.1l stage II engine in my 1970 V6 MARCOS in 1975.....a long time ago! The engine was really flying. I came from france at 8 a.m, at 3 p.m., the MARCOS was ready all for 331 !! (1975!). Un fortunately , i sold hr 2 years latter but the new owner kept in touch and 9 years latter and 30000 miles more the engine was as new. I have bought rob Hubbard wood chassis MARCOS and once again it's an everyday pleasure...

I currently have a standard Weber 40DFAV with a racing electric fuel pump, will this be adequate? Fanaticbee, Can you give me a url to the Europa mirror that looks like the OE? I still haven't a clue as to what the OE mirror looks like. I can't afford to live down south, northern poverty trap and all that and my engine is a V6..mmmm V8 though........ Don, the mirrors supplied by MHS clip (two allen grub screws)onto the window frame and are all chrome units. They look OK but I don't know how secure they will be. Sounds like MHS provided you with a totally different unit?

The ones I want are like the ones on Saxby's Marcos. There is a pic on his website under "my car" and then "2002". Couldn't link to it Do you have a pic of the chrome ones you could email me?
