Does anyone have any experience of working carbon fibre? I am making a new dash of the stuff. Cutting circular holes is easy enough with a hole cutter but I
need to cut some curves. I have tried various saws but they don't last long! I believe the professionals use lasers.
Someone suggested the dust maybe a health hazard. Anyone know anything about this? |

Hi l've worked a lot with fibreglass-and a mask is essential (l'd work outside as well)
l use a small grinderette with coarse (40 grit)paper to knock off rough edges -should work on carbon fibre--- Re-"cutting"----try a metal cutting disc on a grinder if you need to remove a large shape .--then finish with sanding discs. ----------- for a really good finish use wet and dry sandpaper (180 grit, then 400 and finally 1000) |

give Revrie a call they are based in Colchester Essex they did all the carbon fibre sections on the LM or give Martin Green a call at Greenspeed, Weeley
Essex, He actually made my dash board using carbon fibre sheets made by Revrie! he will tell you what you need to know also
