Anybody got a good i.e. sensibly priced!! source for rear screens for Coupe?? Mine had a slight crack...which has this morning progressed to a LARGE crack!
Perspex or glass considered, probably down to price...
Any help gratefully received, cheers! (Dontcha just hate people who say "Cheers!" but have never bought you a pint?? Sorry!)

I thought the MOC had sorted some out - or were at least working on it. Have a word with John Brookes (he lurks here, or just Google for Marcos Owners Club,
where you will find his details and give him a call).
There's a lot of talk these days about green transport. Well, I am ahead of the game, I already have green transport ... British racing green.

I followed Jack's suggestion to contact www.mobilewindscreens.co.uk and had immediate and detailed response from Phil Lomas who is Director and General
manager of Company. He said:-
"We have managed to find the original glass tooling for the post 1984 cars with the bonded front and rear screens. We can now supply heated and unheated front and rear laminated glass screens for these cars in bronze tint or clear. I believe that there are slight differences with the shape of the aperture on the bonded cars but you would be welcome to try a glass on the car if you are interested to see if it would fit. I have five bronze heated ones due shortly but could order a clear unheated glass if you decided that was the way that you wanted to go.
The rubber glazed front screens have a slightly different shape but we keep these in stock. The rubber glazed rear screens are not something that we have ever supplied but I know that Pilkington (formerly Triplex) have tooling for a glass rear screen for the rubber glazed cars. However, they have said that these laminated glass rear screens were never a good fit. I believe that a small number were made by the Pilkington factory in Birmingham in the late 70s but I have only ever come across one of these and that was installed in a car." I shall follow this up but wanted you to be aware of the superb customer service I have received from these guys! I shall be posting a recommendation on the correct forum. Now all I've got to do is identify which sort I've got!!!

Brilliant news - even though almost unreadable on my PC (I see a dark blue font on a black background) - but I managed to select it and then it was legible.

Any idea of price for the front and rear heated screens?
My Mantula has colour coded seals which are relatively flat to the body and glass (body colour sprayed at the same time I suspect) . Are these the bonded type? The later Mantulas i have seen have wide black seals, I presume these are the bonded type refered to by Phil ? These are wider (I think) than mine - anyone got any expert knowledge on this? |

Suggest you email Phil Lomas directly via phil.lomas@mobilewindscreens.co.uk with your enquiry. I'm sure he'll do his best for you. Mention my name, Paul Verdeyen, by all means. Good luck |
