It`s not more power you need, it`s less weight and a few subtle mods and some not so subtle!

Dave,
Good to see the car out again. The mods look superb, very well executed. I may well have to seek your assitance when it comes to my body mods. The increased track certainly gives the car a more purposeful stance. Are you feeling the benefits yet or are you still dialling everything in? Chris. |

I've said it before, but great looking mods! How did you do in the end? (Or did you deliberately not post that... in which case I'll shut up!
Caz & I are discussing LMC next year again... are you sure you can't just pop a couple of plates on the car (& a bonnet badge! . And you know you want to be doing the driving the next time you go round the circuit...

Unregistered user?, Why not come in out of the cold? It's painless, free and opens other options up to you. Spare less than a minute of your time and register here, go on, you know it makes sense! |

Chris Jameson wrote:Hi Chris, I found the car significantly quicker around Cadwell since all the mods, however, it does "feel" different, there is a touch more understeer now and I put that down to the rear end feeling as if it`s glued to the track. Although the body mods didn`t add any weight overall, there is a now a bit more on the rear axle and the rear axle casing is marginally heavier too. I suspect the different weight distribution along with the LSD has helped improve the traction on the rear. It would be nice to reduce the understeer a touch, I may be able to do that with revised anti-roll bar settings, failing that I may have to fit some slightly softer springs on the front. As it is, it`s not that far off the mark and I really do hope I manage to find the time just to drive it some more in 2010. I think we would all like to know how your car is coming along?

While I am not sure the bluff front is as pretty as it is effective, the rest is great, and I have always liked the bonnet scoop air intake. Getting clean cold
air into the motor is vital for power, and the V8 leaves little room for an elegant solution under the bonnet - at least I haven't spotted one yet. With
all you latest mods, it certainly looks the business - how are you doing for cockpit air ? As you have been so bold with the bonnet scoop, I wondered about a
matching roof scoop.
Steve
There's a lot of talk these days about green transport. Well, I am ahead of the game, I already have green transport ... British racing green.

Dave,
I reckon the improved traction on the rear might be at least partly causing the increased understeer. No such thing as a free lunch! How's my car doing? Ok. Working on the chassis at present. Done some work on the new engine. And lots of welding. Still a looonnnngg way to go, but I reckon 2010 will be a much more productive year than the last few. Chris. |
