All I would say is that (if the weather holds) it is a fantastic day out for the family, not just for petrolheads! In fact, you can go the whole hog & make it a weekend with camping/caravans an option. Please reply if you are interested. With an event on this scale, the organisers are already enquiring about numbers. The marque should get ten complimentary Paddock Enclosure tickets per day. Tickets will be allocated to drivers first. In the event of there being less than ten drivers on a day, spare complimentary tickets will be allocated to passengers in order of registration of interest. Registered Member Posts: 384 Thu, 19-Nov-2009 13:03 Junior mechanic	Just stay at Ash Hall B&B near Whitchurch if you go for weekend like we did last year , it was a cross between Hogwarts Castle and Faulty Towers !! It look fine on the web site and even had 2 stars with Tourist Board but they were either awarded in 17th century or during a total eclpise !! With all that and the total mud bath at show meant we left on the Saturday afternoon and came home

If you want to join in the evening festival and hit the beer tent you need to camp on the site. I was told the 1812 overture last year with fireworks and real cannons was quite a show. One of the sad things for me is that this show is only about 10 miles away - I try and drive the long way there. After all I would far rather be driving the car than sitting around with it parked. Now if they let me loose on the circuit that would be a different matter, but this is a bit like the Festival of Speed - you have to be someone much more worthy than I to get a run. I think you are confusing me with Bridgnorth which admittedly is more like a second home as I spend so much time on the railway. Camping was not an option as "her indoors" was with me and that option would have been even worse than Hogwarts Castle considering the torrential rain and mud on the site last year. A bit like Glastonbury Festival but minus the music !! We were up there with the Sporting Bears to do dream rides but an amphibeous assault vehicle would have been more appropriate.

There are a range of hotels around Chester which are in fairly easy reach of the venue, from the wildly expensive Grosvenor in the middel of Chester, to places in outlying villages - like Rowton Hall Hotel - very tasty with gym and pool - to inns with accommodation - like the Cheshire Cat. I am afraid I don't know the B&B situation, normally I am looking out for a place for business visitors. I can't say much about the weather - I was in the pits on the Sunday when the heavens opened, and it was completely torrential, an absolute deluge.The way the British weather has been I wonder if they should try moving it from mid-summer to a drier part of the year - like April or September ! There's a lot of talk these days about green transport. Well, I am ahead of the game, I already have green transport ... British racing green.

Registered Member Posts: 1003 Sat, 29-May-2010 23:21	After you seemed to take over the organisation of the stand for 2010, and then discovered you would be on holiday, then I had assumed there was no Marcos presence for the first time (it having previously been organised by the Mini-Marcos club inviting any other Marcos owners onto their stand). Now on 28th May you say exhibitors must pay by end of May - which seems nonsense as exhibitors got in free the last two years, and the notice is too late anyway. None of this makes any sense - I will be happy to be there on Saturday and Sunday and show my car - but Roger Garland had it all organised the last two years and now I haven't the faintest idea what is going on. Steve My car is not scary at all, in fact it's quite docile .. until I start the engine.

Steve Steve Delighted you will be able to attend Sat & Sun. Don't remember saying to anyone that the Marcos stand was cancelled just because I couldn't attend - I shall just be disappointed to miss the event personally. I did make Roger aware of this & he seemed happy to leave the organisation with me. Truth be told I had expected a significantly more positive response from the Forum members but as per the Tatton Shows as well this year people are being less committal which is understandable perhaps as a lot of us have other things to worry about in the current financial climate. Entrance is free for exhibitors. Entrance tickets are not the same as Paddock tickets or Fireworks tickets. What I have posted above in terms of discounts etc is cut & pasted straight from the emails sent to me by the CPOP organiser - I have not reworded in any way. Feel free to contact Roger (who as you point out has already successfully organised a Marcos stand at two of these events). If there is any specific question you have which is not answered in this thread, that Roger (or anyone else) can answer please post it on the thread. I am still not sure I understand the top note titled Instruction to Members about booking tickets. It doesn't really bring home the point that exhibitors get in FREE - although you will need to buy the discounted tickets for any hangers on (wives, children, other petrol heads etc). This is a great show to get to see for nothing - the rare and expensive cars on show and on the track is truly mind-boggling. The JCB display team and other side shows are a must see. As for lack of enthusiasm this year for Tatton, then I think that is in part due to the show organisers. They want to know who is going to be there months in advance, they have been quite stroppy with me on the gate, plus they gave us a miserable pitch last year. Steve Steve, re Tatton I have talked to the organiser twice directly about the requirement for registration numbers in advance etc. This is 100% down to new Health & Safety rules coming out of Trafford Council - it has significantly increased the overhead for the organisers as well as the clubs & Stuart is no happier about this than us. I echo your comments about the friendly feel at Tatton but that's down to the jolly nice folks who bring their cars along more than anything else.
