I may be shot down on this but my understanding is that there should b 3 screws arround the chrome clamping ring (not the alignment ones) removing the ring
will mean the glass of the lamp will come out. there should be a 3 pin connector on the back of the bulb and a spring clip to hold the bulb into the back of
the lamp.

Thanks for your help,my understanding was the same as yours but when i took the lamp off the car there was no spring clip just three connectors coming out the
back (sealed unit) i think i might have found one by quoting the part no,so hopefully fingers crossed when it gets here it will fit. Thanks again for your
reply.

Lights used to come as either bulb type or sealed beam unit. I suppose the sealed beam units were better at not getting water in, but bulb type ones should be
exchangeable. The front glass can be designed to dip left, or right, or even straight down. So a quick check with the old one will be worth doing before
fitting.
There's a lot of talk these days about green transport. Well, I am ahead of the game, I already have green transport ... British racing green.

Halogen replacements | #4 | ||
|
What are the Mantula headlamps from? I'd be interested in replacing them for Halogen units as night time driving can be a tad exciting, especially as modern cars seem to be fitted with ultra bright xenon lights that completely overwhelm mine. Being so low down doesn't help. Anybody done this and is a straight swap? I'm guessing I need four? |

I was always under the impression that Marcos lighting was always good. I have only seen the lighting from two race cars and my own car. My lighting is four
seperate Halogen units and i love the light they throw out. I have had lots of cars flash me or put their hazzard lights on when i have had mine on full beam
during the day. The blue warning light is difficult to see during the day when it is on.

Hi, sealed beam units available from vehicle wiring products or other advertisers in mags eg kit car. i am changing mine to halogen replacable and the
cheapest source is specialist bulb suppliers on the net. You will have to realine anyway but drawing lines on the garage wall works. Probably!!!!!!!yours are5
3/4ins. my old ones will be up for grabs when I start my winter refit, regards

Apologies if I got the wrong end of the stick but can you get halogen sealed beams? I thought they would only be the type with replacement bulbs. Not sure
which I would prefer but it would seem easier to replace the bulb for a fiver in the event of a bulb blowing than replacing the whole unit. Good to know which
car the originals are from too thanks
