Hi, I need to replace the radiator and fans on my 1996 Mantara 3.9.
Does anyone out there know what original vehicle it is from.
There is a Ford sticker on it, but the part number is too faded to read.
Alternatively I guess I could have a copy made specially, but I would rather fit an off the shelf part.
Can anyone help? - thanks.

Hi -mine's registered the same year as yours--where about on the radiator is your sticker ?- (l'll start looking for identification marks from
there)--l'll go and check out any info from my radiator tomorrow--and get back to you. Re fans -presumably you have the twin electric set up ?

Hi
Just had mine rebuilt by Radiator Express, found them in $*$*+# Pages. Superb job including recore with a bit more surface area to help cooling. My sump was badly dented, they replaced it. The overflow pipe was broken off, they repaired it, they painted it in the original mattish black. Cost £150, 1 week delivery |

A lot of things appear to have been changed around the 1995/1996 time, so...
If it has two fans and the top hose leads to the passenger side then it is from the Sierra Cosworth. If it has one fan and the top hose leads to the drivers side then it should be from the Mondeo V6. Best of luck getting it sorted. |

I checked this for my 94 Mantara and the only rad I could come up with that fits the spec was for the 2.9 diesel Granada. Only this rad has the same large
inlet and out let, yours maybe different of course. Jeremy at Redline said that the rad came from a diesel as far as he could recall so this fits.

I have found a friendly Ford dealer locally. They have said that if I take it in they will get their gnarly parts guru to try and identify it. At least I can suggest it may be a Sierra Cosworth or Mondeo V6 as a starter for ten. Alternatively, Radiator Express sound good. I may well go that way. I have the twin fan setup, and intend to replace them with a couple of new ones from Kenlowe. They have been really helpful in identifying various fan options/combinations that will fit and do the job. Thanks again. I'll let you know how it goes. |

I took the radiator from my Mantula into my local Ford dealer only last week and they confirmed it was from a Sierra 1989 model, have a look on Ebay as some
old stock keeps popping up and you could possibly get a shiny alloy one made for not much more,

It might be worth getting yours reconditioned to save doctoring a new one to fit i had mine reconditioned at leicester radiators they did a fantastic job it
came back like new £180 in total.
