Here a a few snaps of my 1970 gt that i have been working on for the last 18mths ........i brought it from a lock up in halifax where it has sat since being
stripped in the early 1980 s .it was once a v4 but i had a good v6 chassis and running gear that i wanted to use as the original chassis was bent and it had
had some repair work that i was not happy with .. well have a look for your selfs ..........mark
AS BROUGHT !!!
THE CHASSIS IS A LOT BETTER THAN IT LOOKS
AFTER A GOOD SORT OUT A FEW REPLACEMENT RAILS THEN GALVERNISED AND ETCHED PRIMED FOLLOWED WITH A GOOD COAT OF 2K BLACK OH AND PLENTY OF POWDER COATING
THE SHELL WAS TOTALY STRIPPED OF ALL PAINT THEN ETCHED PRIMED FOLLOWED BUY 2K PRIMER ...THE UNDER SIDE WAS SPRAYED IN 2K BLACK AS WELL
WENT FOR PORSCHE TANGERINE THAT WAS A COLOUR USED
WENT FOR BLACK RIMS AS I LIKE THE COLOUR SCHEME USED ON THE NEW LOTUS ...
ENGINE WAS REBUILT WITH A 60 THOU OVER BORE TO GET 3.1 IT NOW HAS BIGGER VALVES AND A FAST ROAD CAM ...HAD IT RUNNING ONCE BUT HOPE TO HAVE IT RUNNING LONGER
WHEN EXHAUST IS DONE .
The list of jobs left to do is end less to do but its getting there i hope to have it done buy the end of march ....but my garage is small i i dont like the
cold

Great pics, and looks like you are making a really nice job of it. There is nothing like a ground up rebuild to get a really great car, and I reckon what you
have done in 18months is pretty good progress. The chassis shot is particularly useful to learn what is where.

Mark you must be really chuffed with the way the rebuild is going. It's a shame you have to cover up the chassis, but on the otherhand with the body on you shouldn't need to look at it again--for rust etc.-------- in the years to come! |

Coming along nicely Mark,
I am considering sending mine off to heritage to complete and put through the SVA test as I no longer have the time to do it. It won't be a ground up restoration like yours though, just enough to get it on the road, I will restore it once I get some free time back. All the best, Adam |

AS YOU CAN SEE SPACE IS TIGHT !!! 
IT NO LONGER HAS THE ALLOY HUBS AS I HAVE GONE BACK TO TO THE ORIGNAL WHEELS SO ON STD TRIUMPH HUBS NOW 
THE TROLLY CAME IN HANDY !!! 
I HAD THE BOTTOM HOSE MADE IN STAINLESS BY A FREIND OF MINE HE DONE A MUSTARD JOB 
AND HERE SHE IS AT A RALLY IN 1976 ..... ENJOY MARK |

i was only thinking about your car the other day ....it was 4 yrs ago when we spoke about it . i see it is now painted if you have any more pics of it i would love to see it and im sure ian who u brought it from would love to see it to ...i found a couple of pics of your car other day .... 
as for the wheels they are the same as yours i had them powdercoated black ,the tyre size i am going to use are 185 70 13 ...i did try 185 60 13 but they looked silly in the archs ill take some photos of the rims when i take them off this week end .... nice to hear from u and i look forward to pics mark

Hi the powder coating was done at a place in great yarmouth called aerocoat they are very good and the and the chassis was done buy britsh metal treatments
also in yarmouth ......
