Registered Member Posts: 562 Mon, 26-Oct-2009 18:22	It was an absolutely fantastic weekend and we would like to thank Cor, Elly, Marcel, Niels and the rest of the team for their hospitality, as always. Although there was an awful lot of confusion after Cor came second to Martin Short in the first race - we all thought he was Champion but the organisers seemed to imply that he wasn't by just 1 point! Later that day they confirmed that he actually was Champion and the celebrations started! We had some very interesting conversations with Cor, Marcel and Niels about what the future held for 'La Bomba' and we hope that she will still see some racing, assuming that FIA rules do not prohibit her racing as it is now 15 years since the original homologation. Niels seemed very, very keen to see them race a TSO in the future (obviously after some modifications, especially making it a lot wider and lower!) and Cor did not seem to averse to this idea. So come on you lot, get your thinking caps on as to where he can get his hands on a TSO or 2, or the moulds! We want to keep Marcos racing internationally, as well as all the wonderful classic racing that we currently see many a Marcos participate in. Gary took some great shots of the racing so hopefully he will post some here very soon (assuming he got home OK, hey Gary)

Registered Member Posts: 2021 Mon, 26-Oct-2009 20:04 Guru mechanic	Well what can I say, a big thank you to the Morrisons for the lift (again,) Cor, Elly and ALL the team who welcomed us again with their hospitality and warm garage. It was good to chat to Marcel and Niels on Sunday, we have exchanged a word or two with them over the past seasons but they were on good form and had nothing to do Sunday morning except chat! And finally to FLYBE who cancelled my flight on sunday evening! The first corner of Sundays race, with the drive shaft on Martin Shorts Mosler about to brake. La Bomba, looking good, and sounding stunning! Cor taking the checkered flag for second place in Sundays race. The Champion! And the Team who work with him.

I have always been impressed by his warmth and friendliness as he always seems to have time for fellow enthusiast. The runs up the hill at Prescott completely sealed my sons love of the marque when he was lucky enough to get a ride. I sincerely hope we get to see the car and driver in action again next year!!!!!!!!!

Registered Member Posts: 27 Mon, 26-Oct-2009 22:46	That was what i thought about Cor as well. I was a complete stranger but was also invited in on the Sunday he really was laid back. He also had the patience to answer questions which were probably asked a hundred times. I particularly liked the distinct exhaust note of the car and the way it seemed to shake the tribune as he thundered by. It was also nice to meet the Morrisons, Gary and the Benelux crowd!

Hence mention of seeking a TSO. Anyone care to clarify ? There's a lot of talk these days about green transport. Well, I am ahead of the game, I already have green transport ... British racing green.

Registered Member Posts: 2022 Mon, 26-Oct-2009 23:43 Guru mechanic	Its more a case of he can only drive in the DSC championship and is not allowed to race in anything like the FIA, or Le Mans Series. In the UK he could race in the Britcar Championship which has similar cars to the DSC, but not the British GTs etc as the rules are based on the FIA GT 3 / 4 concept. The LM600 Evo was not homoligated by the FIA. I think Cor would like to get back into the more serious Championships which can only be good for the Marcos brand.
