Yes Jack there were 6 cars in total but the mini that arrived went before i had a cnance to speak to the owner.
There were Dave C and Mandy,Mantis. Bob and Pat, Mantis,Keith and Nicola,400gt.Roger and son James,Mantaray. Bernadette and Linda,Mantaray and myself and nephew Gary, LM .
When Gary and myself arrived there, we were the only ones so we thought,but after touring around both inside the circuit and outside of the stands and findind no one i decided that although the area that we had during the Classic weekend was now full of competitors i would park almost at the same part of grass,having parked up we wandered of in the direction of the pits where the topcat team were based but as we crossed the area of grass opposite we found Bob and pat who were actually camping with their Mantis,had a chat then of again only to find Dave and Mandy had just parked outside of the stands on the start line.
To cut a long story a little shorter we watched the main 6 hour race to see the topcat win with their Mosler.
next day we met at the arranged point with DC Bernie and Roger who only came up for the sunday. now the problem was who to contact for the track laps,I was elected to find out what was happening HaHa,, trying to find who it was was like finding a needle in a haystack mainly because although it was Britcar weekend their effective control seemed to end on the saturday night,however the girls from Britcar arrived at Race control after about 10 .30 now it came together and they gave good instructions about where and when, so at about 10 to 12 i received the phone call to marshall our group in the car park ready to sign on, being informed that the speed limit would definitely be 50mph,, they must have heard the groans half way round the circuit, When we enquired where the other club cars were that would jion us we were told that we had the track to ourselves yippee;;;,
Now when we were cleared to join the circuit we followed the safety car at a true to their word 50 mph down the start straight we even manager 60 on the next bit but the nice man gradually over the next lap and a half reached about 75 -80 which wasnt nearly as fast as we would have liked but what made it interesting was the fact that at that speed he had to brake on some of the corners but we didnt have to,thats not to say we could do that at all the corners because we blatently couldnt, Suffice to say we all enjoyed our weekend,but we were a little disappointed that more Marcos didnt join us,C!est La Vie next time perhaps.
