Choice of Owners Clubs |

I want to join up to one of the owners clubs - Any advice on which I should join and what each offers. I joined The MOC a few years ago, but my subscription
lapsed and I received a couple of back issues of the Torque Mags and a Tax disc holder. Why are there two clubs?

It's a long story involving a lot of politics and is probably best left in the past TBH. Probably not a lot to chose between them, I've been in the
MOC pretty much from the beginning and have to say that the current management team seem to be doing a pretty good job with magazines dropping through the
letter box ON TIME.

A lot of people join all the Marcos clubs, as it is good to keep them all going.. I joined CMI after going to CMI rallies for many years and loved every moment
of it. I Was talked into the membership as I thought not owning a car was odd, but I was convinced and took the plunge. Since joining (& getting older) It
has turned out that I have access to 2 Marcos' that I can drive! and I kind of organise the local meetup for Warks Northants and Oxon Areas.
I also love getting a regular fix of the club mags! I'm completely incommunicado on the day one comes through the letterbox!!! Gazza

I'd recommend joining them both. It totals less than £50 a year & each club offers different benefits to the Marcos enthusiast.

Instead of joining both, I am wavering between the two, like a floating voter - CMI last year, MOC this year.
This forum is neither, and the 50th Rally was all three clubs (inc Mini-Marcos) - and a brilliant success IMHO One day maybe we will all be one club - I would like that. Steve
There's a lot of talk these days about green transport. Well, I am ahead of the game, I already have green transport ... British racing green.

I was a member of both for many, many years, but after about 3 years without a single communication or magazine from the MOC I cancelled my standing order.
I've heard things have improved, but I'm just a CMI member these days. M. |

Thanks for your advice. I have downloaded application forms for the clubs and will start by joining both. I'll see which each offers and take it from
there. Most of the pages on the MOC site (which I got to from the link on the forum) seem to be not working so joining the club is a bit of a leap of
faith......

How you view the clubs might depend on your own perspectives. The Marcos community is split between those who did, and might still, build a car from scratch,
and those who need to take it to the 'man' if the slightest thing goes wrong (to MHS for many - and we are all so lucky MHS is there).
There are restored cars, and there are race cars, and the odd car that is outstanding in both categories at once (fair doos if you can manage it !). There are high mileage cars, and there are cars that haven't even been registered after 20 years, and there are those in parts in a shed. You may find one of the clubs leans more your way than another - and the MOC appears to be staging a significant revival after a few quiet years ! And then there is the forum .. thanks to Q .. so we are all spoiled for choice ! However, the interest in the cars is going up, the price is going up, and the likelihood of finding an old one to restore are getting lower. So this is a good time to own a Marcos, and a good time to buy one. Steve

I used to belong to both , then gave up on MOC as basically you got nothing for your membership fee, no mags , nothing.
Then new management took over and there has been a BIG change. Re-joined MOC as well as keeping CMI membership going as thought I should support someone who was clearly trying very hard. Have had no regrets ever since and new magazine as just fab |
