Something a little odd about the rear tyre projecting way outside the N/S wheel arch - has the flare on the wheel arch been removed ?. Certainly a 1985 V6 is
rather unusual.
There's a lot of talk these days about green transport. Well, I am ahead of the game, I already have green transport ... British racing green.

Would be a great restoration project, the wheel you mention does not look right and certainly would not be road legal in it's present state, i'm sure a
couple of rear wheel arch moulds taken from a Mantula would sort it out,

I used to have some moulds for them. I might have a scout around the garage and see if I still do. If anyone's interested? |

Does anyone have (or know someone who does) some moulds for the later Martina front wheel arches. I know there is a bit more to it than simply sorting out the
bodywork (possibly different wishbones, steering rack etc) but I've toyed with the idea for a while as it would make the fonrt view a bit more
'purposeful'... I know I can get these from MHS but they aren't cheap, hence not bothering. Borrowing / hiring someone elses is a much more
favourable option. Based on my previous note (if I find them), I'm sure I could come to a mutually beneficial arrangement. Otherwise, anyone scrapping a
Martina or happen to have a complete Martina bonnet lurking in their garage...? No, thought not.

I think John Brookes of MOC is into moulds, so you might want to alert him to your rear ones, and maybe some horse tading can be arranged. He has got a front
air dam mould to jazz up the older cars. What I want is a better steering column switch cover - mine obscures the dials and I am sure is bigger than it needs
to be. I took it off to panel beat it into submissions, and then found that under the leather cover it was fibreglass. Hard to panel beat fibreglass !

I don't really know who John Brookes is. I'll look him up in one of the Club mags and see if I can dig out his number as it might be an option.
I'm certainly not spending hundreds of pounds to do it which, unfortunately, appears to be what MHS would rather I did. Having a history in surfing and
making my own boards when I was a kid, I know a bit about fibre glass and £250 is a bit steep, especially when the moulds are obviously in existence already.
Otherwise is he on this forum? What's his forum name and maybe I'll PM him?

I agree about the steering column cover as well. A hideous design if yours is similar to mine. It flops around on a couple of spindly brackets. I need to
devise a more solid arrangement. I don't mind the look as long as it holds together properly. The older V6 ones taken from a Triumph were quite nice.

Lets run this as a separate topic under General - this thread has gone off topic, and so few people will find this discussion.

I'm not a member of the MOC so it might be reasonable for me not to know him.
