In this month's Classic & Sports car it mentions that only (!) 250 Marcos turned up at Prescott and that this was just an 8th of all Marcoses. Were
2000 produced?

Sorry, slightly off topic but we went to the MX5 Owners club 20th Celebrations at Mallory Park last weekend,(My wife has an MX5 as a daily runaround...good
little sportscar admittedly) and there were probably 2000 cars there but NO ATMOSPHERE, little variation, no real passion and I laughed to overhear 2 guys
saying "I'm not sure if there were 3 Editions of 800 cars of this particular type or..." Hey Guys! Get real, we're talking about a mass
produced car for the masses!!
So I think it's brilliant that there were 250 Marcos at Prescott, cos I know which meeting I preferred by far!! Might want to check on Mark Saxby's site which always used to indicate the numbers produced of the various models I think Sorry to ramble on...I'll get me coat!!

If you count the 800-odd Mini Marcoses, then getting towards 2500 I reckon ,, see this link Marcos cars
What do these guys expect - a 100% turnout ! I think it would have been a bit crowded. When you consider how many have bitten the dust on the way - I would say it was a lot bigger turnout than 8%. It would be better to express the turnout compared to the club memberships - but of course there are 3 clubs and many people are members of more than one.
There's a lot of talk these days about green transport. Well, I am ahead of the game, I already have green transport ... British racing green.

Marcos Obsessive, Nuala and I were also at the Mallory do as we have an 18 month old MK3 MX5. We enjoyed the day but agree totally with your appraisal. We both
said how much more intimate
 our Marcos
meetings are and how much more friendly it is and more involved we feel with the Marcos meetings. and even though there was between 1500 and 2000 cars there,
the MX5 meeting just didn't have any sole, there was no feeling or passion and you really wouldn't have known it was a 20th anniversary. I did feel
sorry for the young guy who stuffed his shiny red 5 into the tyre walll though, glass showered every where and he really crumpled the off-side of that poor
little car
