Hello Q,

I now think the Green Meanie and I can make it. Do you think the rain will have stopped by then - I am fed up with rain, rain and more rain. Tomorrow is heavy showers, but that is followed by a few days of really serious rain, then if we are lucky we will have heavy showers. I am fed up - so much for summer in England.

Another bloody early start - I hope this time you won't be sloping off halfway through the afternoon, after all it is the 50th anniversary. !

Hello Q - well I did manage to get both movies and stills out of the camcorder - though there's lots of buttons to learn. Anyway you asked me to take some shots so here are a few !

I suppose the first point, is that we had to search for our plot - which was more of a verge. It was long and thin and with stinging nettles, and I think the award we got for the Marcos display must surely be for endeavour. My green Marcos was hard to spot in the undergrowth :



Meanwhile Q had some Marcos owners to organise ...(note - two of the early 4 seater Mantis!)


That choice of attire didn't go well amongst the stinging nettles ! Ouch !



In fact green was a popular colour



Even on the most modern cars...



But Roger Garland (with his lovely MiniMarcos and Missus) was there forcing old magazines on us (and selling us old Marcos Owners Clubs mags for £1), and soon we were all clutching copies of old mags (anyone who didn't understand why The Quiffster is so called - this pic should fix it)



And a good day had by all - and Q takes the big tent home as passenger - his family having visited by alternative transport (I didn't ask what sort).



Lovely to see everyone, and a good (11?) car turnout in spite of some late cancellations (show-fatigue setting in?).
It is the 50th anniversary year - get out there and wave the flag (it increases the value of the cars far more than any money in the bank), and if you are thinking of buying one - then get on with it. There is more publicity in the magazines to come. We already have 'rare', and thanks to Boycey's LM600, the XP, Topcats, Cor Euser, etc, we have performance and class, and with more media coverage to make a new generation realise just what great cars we have, then I reckon we all have sound investments...
