Hi folks, well, as the title really, does anyone know anything at all about the history of this "Mantara"?

according to Rory's website, they stopped producing Mantaras in 1998 and they were only fitted with 2.0L & 2.0L turbo tomcats

I beleive we've had this debate before the car pictured is an LM but apparently registration documents detail some of them as Mantaras.
The Mantaras as we all recognise them ie not LMs certainly had the rover V8 fitted. |

From the murky depths of of my mind, I thought originally the model was known as the Mantara LM400/500 - it was a way of making the Mantara suitable for
racing. At the time it was only offered as factory build (unlike the Mantula) and had all the appropriate type approval.
I assume the Mantara moniker was then later dropped when the car took on its own identity..? |
