Thermostatic switch |
Lead | ||

just bought this, very cheap when you consider they are sold by some companies for 3 to 4 times this price, but any ideas where I can get a thermo switch (not
a temp sensor) to fit ? needs to be about 90deg

well, as no-one seems to know thought I'd update you all as I've seen one of these fitted to a Mantula.
Strangely it arrived after 6 days from Hong Kong, described as 'Toy, Helicopter part' ! (I think this may be a way of avoiding import tax or something) anyway, nice item Blue Anodised ally with lots of meat around where the sensor screws in which should allow for fitting of a larger more common sensor if needs be. They are available in different sizes and colours. This may seem a lot of trouble to you all, but when you consider that the same thing with a sensor fitted is £40 on ebay then we may all profit from a little investigation eh ? you will need one if you don't have the facility for a switch in your Radiator and want to fit an electric fan |

Don't want to be negative but I think you will struggle to find a temperature switch that has a 1/8" npt thread. Most switches have a 22mm thread and
you normally only get temperature sensors that have the smaller 1/8" NPT thread.

Adrian, as said there's plenty of meat to bore it out and I think some motorcycles have much smaller switches fitted so a possible source.
Hydraulic, can you explain about adaptors please ? there's a hydraulics place not far from me in W-ton so maybe they can help ? also, what's NPT stand for ? |
