A major anniversary event takes place and no-one talks about it, no-one posts any pictures, no-one posts any videos; it is as if it never happened!

There are some pictures and a report from the sprint - which is great - but NOTHING from the Saturday night or the Sunday... why not?

I read lots of complaints on this forum about how Marcos is not taken seriously... if you want people to talk about Marcos then that talking has to start here. This is meant to be a celebration year not a secret!

It certainly DID happen, ....weren't you there? You could have been the one to make that video, take those photo's and start the chat.

After the afternoons very exciting, entertaining and brilliant fun testing our driver skills and cars on the sprint circuit we all set off, pretty much in convoy, for the hotel in Cannock. First stop was of course a petrol station where most of our cars enjoyed a much needed drink after their earlier thrashing, then it was on to the Hotel. An area of the car park had been cordoned off and provided very secure and exclusive parking for our loved ones while we were off enjoying ourselves. Nuala and I could not stay the night due to other commitments on the Sunday but Richard Partridge was very gracious in letting us use his room for a quick freshen up before the evenings festivities (A heart-felt THANK YOU Richard).

I can't supply any photographic evidence of the Saturday night but I can tell you it was a fantastic soirée. Jon, Richard, Shaun et al worked wonders to provide a very good disco, with a running buffet and video footage of previous Marcos gatherings playing on several screens around the room, which was on the 12th floor, with panoramic windows offering fantastic views of the Cannock countryside. We spent most of the evening chatting to Jan Rees and Dennis (it was lovely to meet you both) and everyone seemed to have a great time just listening to Shaun's music and chilling out. Nuala and I left around 11:45pm for our journey home which was completed in very heavy rain (thank heaven for RainX).

If Jon and others make the real and concerted effort to setup and organise these events it is incumbent on the rest of us to support them and at least make an effort to attend, even if it is only for part of the event, that way there will be more people to talk about it and take those photo's you crave. If we want Marcos to be taken seriously, I would suggest that photo's and chat on a Marcos Forum would have minimal impact as we would be preaching to the converted. If we REALLY want Marcos to be taken seriously it will be done by EVERYONE supporting the few who give up their time and effort to arrange meetings, we should ALL get our cars out there on the road, show up en mass at the meetings (next one is Castle Combe, currently we are overwhelmed by T.V.R's so are YOU coming?) get them seen by the public in general and the motoring community/press in particular.

Nuala and I had a great time at both Curborough and the evenings "do" and offer our sincere thanks to Jon, Richard, Shaun and everyone who put in their time to make this happen, it was a fantastic event and you should be proud of yourselves.
