Registered Member Posts: 128 Sat, 20-Jun-2009 17:59	Tags : None Hi, Went to my local Triumph dealer today and bought a front wheel bearing set for my Mantula. The inner hub and stub axle etc is all usual GT6 with Girling AR5 4 pot calipers however when I showed them the disc rotor which needs replacing it was bigger than the standard GT6 disc and they confirmed it was not a triumph part. I assume just the rotor part can be replaced as it is held on to the inner hub by 6 allen headed bolts and if somebody can tell me what it's from so I can shop about it would be appreciated, Sizes are, rotor width 3/4 inches, outer diameter 10 and 1/4" or 260mm, inner disc diameter 6 inches or 152mm, actual disc size 2 and 1/8". Registered Member Posts: 629 Sat, 20-Jun-2009 21:40	Mine looks similar, but my notes say my disks are 245mm, and 20mm thick, and I think that is 2.8i Capri. Certainly the hub is the conversion piece, with Triumph behind it and, yet Ford wheel studs. It is a Marcos part. There is a separate recent thread about pads that has drifted into the entire topic of uprights and disks. Steve There's a lot of talk these days about green transport. Well, I am ahead of the game, I already have green transport ... British racing green.

Registered Member Posts: 30 Mon, 22-Jun-2009 09:16	Hi, I learned the hard way that GT6 bearings would not fit my Mantula due to alloy Marcos hub, my original discs were 245mm dia 20mm thick as Steve's, but all one piece,..pic. I also think that those are capri. MHS told me that they were an early upgrade kit. I fitted upgrade 278mm discs/calipers by compbrake, and they have separate disc/bell as your pics You may be able to get a replacement 260mm disc from them or one of the upgrade suppliers, I'd start my search in the Ford section. good luck, andrew

There are companies that can make one off sets from a pattern but sounds horribly expensive and want to stick to the same size so i can use my Girling AR5 4 pot calipers, Will have to give MHS a call to see if they know, Anybody else any ideas ? Registered Member Posts: 676 Mon, 22-Jun-2009 11:48 Chief mechanic	That combination is typical of AP racing, the rotors (discs) are available seperately and are used with the seperate alloy bell (bolted to hub) to give correct offsets for various applications. Sending a picture with dimensions to an AP racing stockist would be worth a try. Rally design used to do a 260mm vented disc and caliper spacer kit for Group A Escort Mk 1 and 2 rally cars (would also fit Capri) I`m pretty sure that`s what was fitted to my old Mantula Spyder. It`s not more power you need, it`s less weight and a few subtle mods and some not so subtle!

Registered Member Posts: 634 Wed, 24-Jun-2009 23:17	Rally Design (Kent) keep coming up - they aren't just rally, and I chatted to them about some Wilwood brakes at the kit car show this year (Stoneleigh). If you have modified brakes they could easily be in the frame. They have probably been around 10 years that I know - but slowly growing. Steve There's a lot of talk these days about green transport.
