Assuming I wasn't able to have 5 SWB Ferrari GTOs and sell them and blow the cash on several more cars...
1. My Mantula - but completely rebuilt tided and detailed - with JED engine, and probably Tremec box (as opposd to JEE engine thats in it now) 2. Big Bentley straight 8 (John Steed type) 3. A Veyron (possibly the motor car's Concorde moment after which it is all downhill). 4. A Bowler Nemesis (I am not sure any of your list would be much use towing a trailer, or in the snow, but I think this could be persuaded) 5. Lotus Evora - as an economical runabout. I assume I am allowed to keep my Ducati superbike, and Norton. If you pinch my budget, then 1, 4 and 5.
There's a lot of talk these days about green transport. Well, I am ahead of the game, I already have green transport ... British racing green.

Sorry but this £1,000,000 Lamborghini Miura SV has to be on the list, the only problem is it was owned by Rod Stewart! And I agree with the Zonda F... |

My Marcos 1600 GT, all complete with hot Alfa 2000 engine and a carbon fiber chassis. Lamborghini Muira S, not SV, the body lines are much cleaner. Ferrari P4 (sort of had one once, a Noble version, miss it a lot). 3.8 E type roadster. Had one, now I feel stupid for ever selling it. In my meager defense I only sold it to raise "investment capital" for a company I was starting. Triumph TR-3, "small-mouth", stripped down as far as legal for the road. Had one, I feel stupid for ever selling it. Of course my ever having ONLY five cars is laughable, I own eight right now. I will have my '69 Rover 88" forever. The Triumph 1500 is my econo-car, putting OD in next month. My '59 Chevrolet El Camino is slowly becoming a unique hot-rod road race capable car. I'm about to get a '57 Chevrolet one ton flat bed truck to transport the project cars around with. The E-Type and TR-3 are both cars I fully intend to replace, once funds become available. My Marcos may not get the CF chassis, but I will get it sorted. You may notice that there are NO late model cars on my list. That's because nothing made today interest me! I'm disgusted with the pathetic modern design committee, Gov. Org. mandate, "Green" appliances of today. |

Being horribly practical and to meet the daily needs of my family.
Iso Grifo 7 Litri (for rare classic italian exotica) Overfinch Supersport (Range Rover) (to take the dog for a walk and stuff to the dump and aged parents for a quiet run in the country) (I like Noccer's Idea of the Bowler) Jag XFR (for work) 4.6 Mantaray (for the extra boot space when we take a Marcos to the continent, I must still have a Marcos) Audi Avante RS6 (for the wife to carry her shopping around in) I can always hire additional exotica when I want to to go for a blast round a track |

1) Mantaray 4.6 softop - to satisfy an ongoing need.......... 2) Metro 1.3 auto (25,000 miles) in pristine condition - because I need something small to get
around London that I can park on the street and not have to worry about anyone ever trying steal or mark it - and even if they did it wouldn't matter (so
far I have had 4 write off's while sitting in my front room). Also as a future donor for number 3)....... 3) Midas Gold Coupe - to satisfy need 2) but with
a bit more fun............. 4) Audi R 8 - to supplement need 1) but with addition of a hardtop 5) Audi A2 1.6 FSI- To satisfy need 2) only with more
practicality and space for longer trips - think this will be my next car

Where I live in London it's not a good idea to leave your valuables about, so I'm employing an anti-matter policy...... but if that wasn't a
problem I'd have A Lambo Muria Ferrari Boxer Maserati Khasmin Lancia Hyena Fiat 500 Abarth (60's version)

I think, Zeke, you need to get out of London - big time! Take 2 weeks holiday touring England, get some air in your lungs. The city pushes people together in an
unnatural way, it hardens the arteries of social interaction, it stifles the things that need space. It slowly turns you .. in fact I don't think 2 weeks
is enough - and I know that there is no job in London that pays enough to drag me back.
When you retire and move out to the country - which cars would you like ?

Well said,
I am cycling/camping the Outer Hebrides (as far away from the smog as possible) in a few weeks time, so would have a pushbike as one of my five, Martyn..........

When you retire and move out to the country - which cars would you like ?I couldn't agree more, I just spent some time in Scotland with my old circle of friends from wayback and think thats helped to recharge my perspectives. I'm getting too much out of work (in terms of challenges and rewards) in London to leave just yet but I always have the contingency plan of selling up and moving back into civilisation hovering in the back of my mind. I've just bought a very tidy dark green Golf V5 from my neighbour (needed something that can take more weight oop north) so the Midas and Metro will have to go soon. My nephews wife thought the cream interior is an interesting challenge for me! I've already got 2 Carltons a Hetchins and a Brompton for cycling about London, (I avoid pubic transpost like the plague) and think that helps to reduce the dehumanisation process that is London transport. I will try put some thought to what other cars I really would like as having the Mantaray (btw it's running perfect at the mo) seems to have stopped me thinking about it.

Depending on which family member you ask you will get a 100% different response but OK here go my choices.
1. Our mantula (TOTALLY stripped and worked over. a nice 350bhp would surfice. Keep it naturally aspirated, it just sounds the balls ) lol 2. Jag XJ220 (just gota really) 3. May sound corney but a 67 GT500 mustang fastback. Eleanor........... enough said. 4. Maserati Quattroporte (as the obligatory practical choice) 5. And for a trip to the shops (ok with my hair on fire admittedly) Audi R8 V10TDI. OOO i think that will do. Joe |

1) I'd have my car re-bodied in aluminium with a John Eales racing 5.3 Rover V8 in it, maybe with a supercharger, everything else totally bespoke and
aluminium where possible.
2) Aston Martin DBS Volante - beauitful and fast 3) Aston Martin DB5 Vantage - obviously 4) Ferrari 250 California - Simply the most beautiful car created 5) Spyker C8 Aileron Spider - Quiffster will back me up here I bet, stunning car Five doesn't allow room for an E-Type, Enzo, Maserati Bora, Miura SV, DeTomaso Mangusta, Bentely Continenental S1, Aston DB4 Zagato, oh I could go on |

1) My Mantis, with any and all problems fixed immediately.
2) My Frontera 'cos I really like it (you don't have to, but I do) 3) The biggest Winnebago that money could buy with the pop out sides and all that stuff but modified to have a hydraulic/electric tailgate behind which would lurk a Harley Road King, Honda Gold Wing and Norton Commando 850 Interstate. Ooh, and did I mention that it would be towing a double decker trailer with a Shelby Cobra and a '56 Chevrolet Nomad on it? This would all be stored in the states at my mate's place in California (soon to be part of the Pacific Ocean) when I wasn't using it for touring. 4) Aston Martin V8 Vantage 5) Marcos 3Ltr V6 and if I could just squeeze one more into the list it would be a Maybach... just so that I could really rub it into the pedestrian's faces when they see me quaffing Port by the gallon and smoking huge cigars as they rush past in the pouring rain while I'm doing a sedate 3mph in the horrendous traffic.
How do they know it was a Big Bang if there was no one around to hear it?
