My first impression is that it has a lot of steel where mine has none. The entire top part for starters, and a very handy a desirable thing it is to have a
full roll cage. This is presumably a live axle car rather than IRS, but even allowing for that I suspect if has a few extra bits on that chassis that I am not
sure I have on mine. I'll go for 130kg - but that is just a blind guess.

Well before Martyn added all the extra bits, 2 people could lift it easily, so I'll go for about 90kg

I`ll go for 95kgs.
It`s not more power you need, it`s less weight and a few subtle mods and some not so subtle!

I'll go for about 120kg.
My 'cage is going to be similar to that and I know it has around 20kg of metal in it and I reckon Dave and Nixfix are pretty much right. |

Mmmm !-----can l have another guess, picking up the points made and using metric? ( must be heavier than two prop forwards-- plus a roll cage)-------105 kg

And Ze winner is.........................................Marco Mantara who guessed at 105kgs. The actual weight is 106kgs as per the photo
with the roll cage attached. Remember it's the taking part not the winning that counts (B*?/'#'ks)

Hurrah!-at last l've won something, even if it's nothing!----106 kg and l predicted 105 kg---if l'd known it was going to be powder coated, l would
probably allowed for that and got it spot on !!!!----Does this win mean l have moved into expert status within the Marcos forum?

Looks nice - I was going to go for RAL5007, or possibly a bit darker RAL5013 - that looks a bit like RAL5015?
Are you going to get the cage coated as well? Black or funky blue to match the chassis? |

Hi Nicholas,
Good to hear from you, the paint code is 5003 and the actual colour looks darker in the flesh, as I said it's a real lovely smooth finish and are really pleased. Re the roll cage, early days yet so i've put it back in the loft for now until interior fitting time, I was thinking of perhaps getting it chromed for a real dramatic effect to go with the silver or gun metal exterior colour scheme but will have to see when I get to that stage. I will be stripping the suspension/anti-roll bar/axle/panhard rod/trailing arms/pedal assembly box for painting next, Regards, Martyn......... |

Its all very pretty, and I can see another show car emerging to show mine up for the scruffy monster it is....one thing that crossed my mind is that yours
might have been fitted with race harnesses. I am curious to know where the anchor points are on yours. I rather fancy placing 4-point harnesses in mine, and I
don't suppose the bolt holes are there as standard, but I would be interested to see where they go. Are the top ones in the roll cage ?

Here's a pic of how they used to look - basically a bar was mounted across the parcel shelf between the roll bar mounts, and the eye's for the belts
hooked in to it. Lower mounts used the existing points as it was just a 4 point harness.

I also like shiny new things but i do believe in "use it for what it was made for" whether it is a car or anything else.

So thats an extra bit of steel across the rear edge of the rear parcel shelf. I had always assumed four point harnesses would come directly off the chassis
cross-member at two locations immediately behind the seats - I can't see that having a common mounting point further back really improves things - but it
does avoid holes in the chassis.
