Registered Member Posts: 85 Tue, 17-Mar-2009 12:07	Tags : None Hi, Just about to finally get my chassis treated/painted etc and wondered about the colour. The Marcos chassis that I have seen on other cars have mostly been blue, was this colour standard on all Marcos Cars and if so does anybody know exactly what shade of blue it is. Or if anybody has any suggestions for a better colour ? I will be keeping the bodywork to silver, Regards, Martyn.......... www.marcosmantula.com

When are you taking it down to Redditch? If it is at a time that I am around I would not mind having the chance to pop down and have a look at your amazing handywork. Sorry but I cannot help with the correct chassis colour because mine's done in liberal waxoil. Allan

Registered Member Posts: 79 Tue, 17-Mar-2009 14:13	Hi, l am relatively new to the Marcos and maybe there is a "Marcos tradition" re a blue chassis. Personally l prefer a simple business like coat of black paint on a chassis. Different colours can look a bit twee.?--- If you are colour coordinating, for example a blue Marcos --blue interior,blue chassis,blue underside neon lights,blue walled tyres ---where do you stop?

Registered Member Posts: 86 Wed, 18-Mar-2009 23:13	Hi Joe, From the info I have managed to find, the chassis I think is a standard Mantula Chassis and standard thickness tubing and it is the body tub and panels that are lightweight being a thin woven mat as opposed to Glassfibre and having held two identical pieces same size of each material I could certainly feel the difference in weight. I have simply added some cross bracing as suggested by MHS and various tech pieces I have read to stiffen the rear end up where the trailing arms meet the very end of the chassis, apparantly the stiffer the chassis the better the handling as it lets the suspension settings when finely tuned to be the most effective. Re the chassis colour, now thinking about perhaps Silver and having a more darker body colour such as titanium as on the Lotus Exige, but then I will probably wake up tomorrow and have other ideas ? Registered Member Posts: 1232 Wed, 25-Mar-2009 23:43 Chief mechanic	mine's done in 'guaranteed to peel off black' as Marcos didn't feel the metal needed any protection/treatment before paint. It's a finish that will one day no doubt be a custom option for arty types, but generally speaking it's crap !

There's a lot of talk these days about green transport. Well, I am ahead of the game, I already have green transport ... British racing green.
