That sound like fun - and btw a Pantera is on my desirable list. A nice cheap practical car (compared to some of the others on my list !).

Do they time you on track days, or do you have to do that yourself if you are trying to set a car up ?

At Cadwell the static noise test is 105dcb`s at 3/4 max revs, the noise tester was very understanding of the older cars and I achieved 102dcb at 2/3 revs.
Clothing requirements are no exposed arms or legs and a helmet is compulsory, many regulars prefere to wear a fire protective suit for trackdays. Your car has
to be in good order and safe to drive, roll over protection is not compulsory as many people turn up in standard cars.

It was a really good afternoon/evening the weather was excellent, sunny and dry for the duration. When I arrived there was still some practice sessions and
racing going on from the Tour Britannia Series so for about an hour it was a petrolheads heaven. It`s not very often you see such a cross section of classics
on the same grid, from a Hillman Imp to a De Tomaso! Cars ranged from a good field of various 911`s, Elans, Alpine Renault, Mustang, MGB, Cobra, Escort`s and
many more. The De Tomaso narrowly won the race, with a 911 and Elan very close...

100dB at trackside, or close up ? Mine is over that close up, but I scraped through at Curborough where it was 105dB. I assumed they would be fussy about lack
of roll over protection.

I did a trackday at Bedford Autodrome 2 years ago in my V6. The only requirements were a noise limit and Helmet! Hope to do more now I have a more powerful
engine. Went with my son to Abingdon airfield in his Westfield this year. Same requirement - Helmet and 100db limit.

Blimey - first post in this section for 2 and half years !!

You will remember we chatted about ARBs at Prescott, as I was making new links for mine. I have acquired a Marcos Owners Club magazine from about 1988 with
information on fitting ARBs and how to use the Pilbeam equations to calculate roll resistance. I suppose you have already sussed all this out. Those old
magazines were packed full of technical info. I'll post a thread on the magazine in 'general' when the summer event frenzy has died down.

Not having attended a track day, I would be interested to hear how strict they are on noise, clothing, roll cage, belts, etc. I suspect things get
progressively tighter, and have wondered if a coupe without a roll cage/bar would even be allowed to play.
