I have seen LM race cars for sale with BMW M5 engines and 6-spd gearboxes. Very appealing to have 500 reliable bhp and a gearbox that could cope. Not sure
What makes you think the bigger Marcii are anything different to a Mantula, apart from a few outriggers for the wider bits, and fatter tyres. What I have seen
of the LM's is they aint a lot different to a Mantula/Mantara so horse power handling is either there or its not.
I'll let you know one day when I get my un stressed 350 bhp Chevy on the road.

I recently collected a ex T*R short block cross bolted 5.0 from V8 Developments, worth giving them a try, i will let you know if the gearbox can cope in due
course, (obviously going for the stage 3 heads and suitable cam to match etc) it's gonna fly..........

A few idle thoughts -
Jaguar V8 - nice - but not sure anyone has cracked the fuelling when attached to a manual transmission. Very compact power though.
Aston V8 - see above - hand built version - best feature is name Aston Mantula !
AJPV8 - Upset everyone by installing one of Trevor's wonders in your car - I don't think the flat plane crank sounds as nice as the normal V8, and
parts problems may loom.
Lotus V8 - no idea where you get one, or if they exist without twin Turbos - too expensive
BMW V8 - never thought of this - think Morgans use them - higher revving could mean you can/should change to lower diff ratio
Rover V8 - Speak to John Eales of J.E. Dveleopments - this man is a legend with the Rover V8 and will make you exactly what you need - and it will cost a few
bob
Rover V8 - JEE - a John Eales spin-off as far as I can tell - exciting engines - but not bespoke.
Chevvy Smallblock - tight fit by all accounts - requires sawing...

be the logical choice.
