Now that I have driven the car in anger on a Hillclimb it is obvious that the 390cfm Holley I have fitted is not running correctly even after having an "Expert" rebuild and retune it. It hunts from 800 to 1500 rpm at random? Acceleration over 2000 rpm is good and all plugs come out similar colour.

So do I have a vacuum leak somewhere? Is the race cam with 310 degree overlap causing too low a vacuum (it runs 5" vacuum at 800rpm) which the Holley does not like. I can buy a brand new Holley for £250.

I have read that drilling 2 small holes in the butterflies (1.8mm diameter) helps overcome this problem?

I have searched and found 3 triples + manifold for £1500 BUT thats a lot to spend if not necessary.

Anyone out there got a set of triples + manifolds I can "Rent" for a month to help make my decision of what to do.

The tyre pressures are all 25psi and toe in is I believe OK is this due to some aspect of the set up eg due to corner weights not yet checked etc., or is it just due to the road camber?I would value you comments as I intend to take up sprints and hillclimbing as recommended by 'hillclimber'
